The cyber threat landscape facing all Department of Defense (DoD) components, as well as all Civilian Agencies continues to increase in size, scope and complexity.
Further, the attack vector goalposts continue to shift from being contained solely within traditional Information Technology (IT) infrastructures to now also including Operational Technology (OT) infrastructures. Gartner defines OT as “hardware and software that detects or causes a change through the direct monitoring and/or control of physical devices, processes and events in an enterprise” where the hardware could be pipelines, electrical distribution (grid) systems, data centers, oil/water pumps and HVAC systems. Traditionally organizations have maintained separate and distinct IT and OT infrastructure networks. However, cost saving, operational efficiency and other drivers have forced the two networks to converge. Unfortunately, the integrated cyber monitoring of IT and OT systems has lagged in the marketplace.
Foxhole Technology, LLC (Foxhole) and Dragos, Inc. (Dragos) came together to define a blueprint for Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and DoD to implement a single system to mitigate the cyber risk for both IT and OT assets. To learn more, download our latest whitepaper.
