Interoperability Test Engineer

Start: As soon as possible
Secret Clearance
Location: Indian Head, MD
Travel: Minimal
Salary: $75,000-78,000

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of system, interface, and Joint interoperability certification requirements, (to include the JCIDS process) responsibilities, techniques, documentation, and test certification requirements as described in CJCSI 6212.01D. Must have a thorough working knowledge of networks and systems. Must be able to analyze existing systems, define requirements, designs, develop, and test the new system. Must be able to determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for software/hardware compatibility. Must have a thorough understanding of the Department of Defense Architectural Framework (DoDAF) requirements, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Instruction (CJCSI) 6212.01 C/D, and Department Of Defense Directive (DoDD) 4630.8 documents as they pertain to Interoperability
Testing and Certification by JITC. Must be able to identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies. Provides System Testing as the Interoperability Test Lead providing documentation, system analysis, Test and Evaluation, and problem solving support to the Authorizing Official (AO) and Customer. Establish complex operational databases, software configuration control and system interfaces for computer system(s) assigned. Maintain file servers, network access, document, analyze, and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance. Prepare system for operational use and support operational tests. Possess good Oral and Written Communication, Interpersonal and People Skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Professional Suite. Must be capable of documenting design and preparation of reports for executive level briefings. Must be comfortable working with others in a close environment, i.e., monitoring center, in a fast-paced
environment with rapidly changing requirements. Performs other duties, as assigned. Some travel will be required. This position works with the Multi-National Information Sharing program office, so travel is usually to Columbus, OH or Hawaii, but other locations may include Tampa, Virginia Beach, San Diego and Germany. Travel is usually for 1 work week every couple of months. Sometimes it is more than that, but that is the norm.

Qualifications
MInimum Bachelors degree in a science related to the area of expertise

Understanding of Testing Methodology, and DoD Testing and Certification as defined in CJCSI 6212.01Understanding of Testing Methodology, and DoD Testing and Certification as defined in CJCSI 6212.01D
Basic understanding network functions, standards, and protocols
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret or above security clearance.
Computer fluency in Microsoft office applications and solid in problem solving and analytical skills.
Through understanding and working knowledge of Test and Evaluation (T&E), Developmental Testing (DT), Operational Testing (OT), systems, interface, and Joint Interoperability Certification Testing requirements.
Must have the ability to follow-through to project completion. Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or other industry standard certifications are desired.

Familiar with Military command structure at the Strategic and operational levels a plus


SKILL
Must be proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, and Project Management.
Must be capable of analyzing System Documentation such as DoD Architectural Framework (DoDAF) products to extract system interfaces and information exchange requirement

Must be capable of both creating test cases and assisting technology representatives to write Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) events to demonstrate their products.
Must be able to attend technically oriented meetings, derive requirements that are a result of such meetings, and develop comprehensive reports, with minimal supervision.

Must present in a professional manner possess interpersonal people skills, oral and written communications skills and dress in accordance with professional standards.
