Why eBuy?

Anyone who currently has a GSAAdvantage! account has access to e-Buy. Using the e-Buy system, buyers may prepare and post an RFQ for specific services and products for a designated period of time. Each RFQ is assigned to a Federal Supply Schedule and special item number (SIN) category by the buyer. The category assignment determines which seller may receive the e-mail notice to quote.

Sellers are automatically listed under their awarded SIN categories. Buyers may notify all sellers listed under a particular SIN category, or they may choose to notify a lesser number of sellers. FAR 8.4 and the “Ordering Procedures for Services” (Requiring a Statement of Work) stipulate that buyers must obtain three or more quotes for purchases over the micro-purchase threshold. Sellers not notified may still submit a quote for an RFQ placed under their awarded SIN. (It is advisable to check the e-Buy site each day for RFQ opportunities, since e-mail notification is not guaranteed.)

Once an RFQ has closed, buyers may evaluate and accept the quote that represents the best value. Buyers may then issue an order to any contractor whose quote was accepted.

GSA Advantage! is the federal government's online shopping and ordering system which provides access to thousands of contractors and their millions of products and services. It provides federal buyers the ability to search for products and services using key words, national stock numbers, contract numbers or vendor names while comparing features, prices and delivery options as well as placing orders directly with the contractor.

GSA's e-Buy is an electronic Request-for-Quote system designed to facilitate the submission of quotes for professional services. e-Buy is a powerful tool that is used by GSA Schedule contractors interested in receiving information on federal buyers needs. Buyers utilize the system to make best value determinations. Contractors receive instant notification of sales opportunities and buyer's needs specific to their contract capabilities.

Both GSAAdvantage! and GSA e-Buy are requirements of holding a GSA Schedule contract. We have the capabilities and resources to easily facilitate the upload of your products and/or services to either website.
